2009 Pet of the Month Winners
Pet of the Month January 2009
Our first Pet of the Month winner is "Elvis". "Elvis" is an 8 year old domestic medium hair kitty.
His "mom" shared the following story:
"Elvis" visited our home and ate the peanuts I put out for the squirrels. Sometime later he needed a new home and we adopted him.
Pet of the Month February 2009
Our February Pet of the Month winner is "Lilly". "Lilly" is a 7 month old Standard Poodle.
Her mom says "Lilly" is a happy-go-lucky puppy who likes to tease her 3 dog brothers at home.
Pet of the Month March 2009
IN LOVING MEMORY
Our March Pet of the Month winner is "Heidi-Ho". "Heidi-Ho" is a 13 year old Smooth Coat Dachshund.
Her dad shared with us the following story:
I was on all fours doing my back stretch exercises. "Heidi-Ho" crawled underneath me and started to do her stretches.

Pet of the Month April 2009
Our April Pet of the Month winner is "Monay". "Monay" is a 5 year old Domestic Short Hair.
Her mom shared with us the following story:
"Monay" came from Mona and Amy, my two best girlfriends who, after I lost "Tigger" surprised me by introducing me to "Monay".
When "Monay" gets her afternoon snack she stretches up the fridge and waits for me to get the can.
Pet of the Month May 2009
Our May Pet of the Month winner is "Jebby". "Jebby" is a Shetland Sheepdog who will turn 9 years old in July.
Jebby had surgery several weeks ago to remove a cancerous tumor that weighed 1 pound. Since his surgery, "Jebby" has been a frequent visitor for onging treatment and wound care.
His mom gives her thanks to Dr. Frey for helping "Jebby" heal.
Pet of the Month June 2009
Our June Pet of the Month winner is "Madeline". "Madeline" is a Domestic Short Hair kitty who is 16 and 1/2 years old!
Her mom recalls the following story:
After closing all the windows in the house my husband and I left the house. Outside I heard meowing. I turned around and I had closed the kitchen window with "Madeline" still in the window, stuck between the screen and the glass.
"Madeline" was promptly rescued from her predicament.
Pet of the Month July 2009
Our July Pet of the Month winner is "Grimmy". "Grimmy" is a Black Labrador Retriever who is nearly seven years old.
Her family shares the following story:
"Grimmy" is a certified therapy dog and kids read to her during the reading programs at the Frederick and Thurmont Libraries.
We love to watch her kiss the kids when they start to read to her.

Our August Pet of the Month winner is "Patushka". "Patushka" is a Persian mix and is 16 years old!
Her mom shares the following story:
"Patushka" likes to come to our dog "Bluey" for daily ear cleanings.
Pet of the Month September 2009
Our September Pet of the Month winner is "Toby".
His mom shares the following story:
"Toby" faced some tough medical times in years past. We credit Dr. DiMaria and West Frederick Veterinary Hospital with saving his life!
Pet of the Month October 2009
Our October Pet of the Month winner is "Alex". "Alex" is a Russian Blue kitty who is 5 and 1/2 years old.
"Alex's" family shares the following story:
"Alex" came to us as an outdoor cat. He fit in our family (including our Bichon). Then when we brought in a mother cat who gave birth to five kittens, "Alex" acted as their father. We kept two of the kittens. "Alex" will clean the kittens--now cats. "Alex" is a hands-on kind of cat. He loves everyone!!
Pet of the Month November 2009
Our November Pet of the Month winner is "Kimber". "Kimber" is a 6 month old Vizsla puppy.
"Kimber's" mom shares the following story:
My boyfriend went all the way to Iowa to get my puppy, and at first I didn't want a dog. But, when he brought her in the door, I fell in love with her big brown eyes and beautiful amber coat. Now, I coudn't live without her!
Each month we will feature one of our patients as our "Pet of the Month". To enter the raffle, obtain a card from the Reception Desk and fill it out while you are with us for your pet's appointment. On the card you'll let us know your name, your pet's name, and give us a story about your pet.
We will also take a digital photo of your pet to display on our website.
At the end of the month we will draw one card from that month's entries to be featured as our "Pet of the Month".
New Prize! Winners will receive a "Life is Good" T-Shirt that declares "Life is good... pets make it better"!
