Our Staff
Linda
Littell, CVPM
Linda joined the hospital in November 2000 and serves as the
Practice Manager. She was born and raised in Michigan, and moved to
Maryland in 1977 after receiving a commission in the Nurse Corps of
the U.S. Navy. In addition to a diploma in nursing, Linda has earned
a Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration and a Masters in
Business Administration. She has held healthcare management
positions for over 15 years. In 2006, she retired from the US Navy
Reserve, having achieved the rank of Commander in the Nurse Corps.
In October 2007, she attained the designation of Certified
Veterinary Practice Manager through the Veterinary Hospital Managers
Association.
Linda lives in Thurmont with her husband Bruce, and their two dogs,
Odie and Mike. Her granddog, T J Hooker, is a frequent visitor. In
her free time, she enjoys gardening and needlework.
Valerie Taylor, Lead
Receptionist

Valerie joined WFVH in 1998 with 8 years experience in veterinary
medicine. She works as Lead Receptionist and veterinary assistant and is
our inventory manager.
Valerie enjoys church activities, camping, Civil War activities,
reading, gardening, dog training and showing. She loves activities
involving her Labradors Susie, Ripken and Hope. Valerie is a member
of The National Labrador Retriever Club, The Labrador Retriever Club
of the Potomac and has volunteered with Lab Rescue. She educates people
about the joys of Labrador ownership. Valerie has
also rescued and adopted out several kittens.
Valerie lives with her family on a farm in Pennsylvania. She enjoys
horses, cows, sheep, goats and chickens on her farm. In addition to
her labs and farm animals, Valerie shares her home with Chloe, a JRT
mix, several family cats and a few rescued Guinea Pigs.

Malinda Henke
Malinda has been a member of our staff since April 1989. You will
find her primarily at the front desk ready to assist clients with
their pets. Malinda also arranges the seasonal displays in our
waiting room and reception area.
Malinda is a native Fredericktonian and resides in Jefferson with
her husband Keith, daughter Keirstin, 5 cats, and Jimmy the dog. In
her spare time, she enjoys many outdoor sports and going to the gym.
She also spends a lot of time tending to her Koi pond, many
birdfeeders, and numerous flower gardens in her yard, which is
certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife
Federation.
Jennifer Knight
Jennifer joined the WFVH staff as a Receptionist in 1998 after
closing an exciting 10 year career with the Walt Disney World, Co.
in Orlando, Florida. A move to the Frederick area gave Jennifer the
opportunity to use both her service background and love of animals
in the veterinary field.
Jennifer has a “boisterous” cocker spaniel, Scooby. She enjoys
hiking and traveling.
Kathy Bennett

Kathy joined WFVH as a
Receptionist in 2003. She has trained in all areas of the hospital
and assists doctors with treatments and surgeries during
appointment hours. Kathy has taken a sign language course at FCC to
better serve our hearing impaired clients.
Kathy lives in the Frederick area with her 2 dogs, 1 cat, and an
African Grey parrot.
Scott Engel

Scott joined WFVH in March 2002 as a Veterinary Assistant. He
assists the doctors during appointments and surgeries. Scott has
also completed the
Veterinary Assistant course given at Frederick Community College. He
has lived in the Frederick area for over 15 years. Before joining
the hospital, he
spent several years working for a local medical supply company.
In the summertime, he enjoys whitewater kayaking. Scott also enjoys
gardening and hiking with his mischievous basset, Zuki. He loves old
cars and is currently restoring a 1968 Camaro.
Carrie Moats, Veterinary Technician

Carrie graduated from Wilson
College in 2005 with degrees in Psychology, Biology, and Veterinary
Medical Technology. She joined WFVH in May 2006.
She assists with surgeries, treatments, dentals, and other aspects
of the hospital.
Carrie enjoys reading, photography, horseback riding and showing.
She lives with her 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, 4 snakes, 3 fish tanks,
a timor monitor, and
her fiancé Jeremy.

Becky Reeder

Becky joined the
hospital in August 1999. As a Veterinary Assistant, she
monitors pets under anesthesia and assists doctors with
treatments and surgeries.
Becky lives with her dogs, Rusti and Max.. Watching over
her Longaberger basket collection is her cat named
Rupert. |
Wendy Estep

Wendy joined the WFVH customer service team as a receptionist and
veterinary assistant in September 2006. She has worked in the field
for over 12 years. She completed the Veterinary Assistant Program in
1998 at Carroll Community College and is a graduate of Frederick
Community College. She was the volunteer Treasurer for the Frederick
County Humane Society for 2 years, and currently does rescue for
cats/ kittens on her own for strays of the
C & O Canal.
Her crazy household consists of Max (a golden retriever mix), Jake
(a cattledog mix), and her five cats (Milton, Carnie, Shasta, Buddy
and Momma Cat.). Her newest addition, Oslo (a Pitbull mix) was a
stray she found near her home. She goes on weekend hikes with her
dogs on the C & O Canal and loves the outdoors, travel, and
horticulture.
Adrian Whicker
Adrian graduated from Eckerd College in May 2005 with a Bachelor of
Science in Biology. She started working as a live-in night and
weekend veterinary technician at an animal hospital in St.
Petersburg, Florida. In November 2006 she moved to Maryland to be
with her fiancé and began working for WFVH. Adrian plans to go back
to school for Veterinary Technology and become a licensed
technician.
She enjoys reading, jogging, visiting museums with her fiancé; and
playing with her two cats Annie and Ozzie.

Marjorie joined the team in January 2007 as an Outpatient Assistant.
She previously worked in veterinary reception and triage at a busy
emergency clinic in New York. Marjorie is currently taking time off
from school at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she
studies music and biology. Marjorie aspires to be a doctor of
veterinary medicine and has a love for all creatures. She has three
cats, two Chihuahuas, and a very chatty lovebird.
