Dr. Sparks knew she wanted to be a vet by the time she was five years old, spending much of her childhood with her family’s dogs, cats, and horses. She grew up in South Florida and attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and veterinary studies. She moved to Maryland after finishing veterinary school in 2019.

Since then, Dr. Sparks has worked in both general practice and shelter medicine settings. Her primary interests are ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery, and she is passionate about using surgical care to improve the quality and longevity of pets’ lives.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Sparks enjoys reading, baking, and watching sports. She loves to spend time with her husband and daughter and their two rescued pets - a pit bull named Gertie and tabby cat named Groot.
