Dr. Hannah Smith grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Clear Spring, Maryland. Because of her early exposure to so many animals, Dr. Smith knew from a young age she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended Virginia Tech where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science and then continued her education at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and earned her DVM in 2014.

After graduation, Dr. Smith moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she was a mixed animal veterinarian for three years. In 2017, she returned to Maryland and has practiced small animal general medicine since then.

Dr. Smith is passionate about animal health and comfort and has recently completed her acupuncture certification. In addition to helping her patients with pain management, Dr. Smith also enjoys working with geriatric pets, endocrine diseases, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Smith lives on a dairy farm in Burkittsville with her boyfriend Josh and their three dogs, Cammie, a German Shorthaired Pointer, Nala, a Goldendoodle, and Cricket a Bichon mix. In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys showing her dairy cattle on the local, state, and national levels.
