Dr. Lisa Hennings

Dr. Hennings started her veterinary career in the 5th grade during an ‘interview’ for school with a veterinarian, where she almost passed out from the sight of a dog’s lacerated bleeding paw. Fortunately, she has come a long way since then. Dr. Hennings grew up in Ringwood, NJ, and attended Pennsylvania State University for her undergraduate studies. She continued her education at the University of Florida where she obtained her veterinary degree.

Following graduation, she was granted a one-year internship at the prestigious Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. She was then selected to fill a two-year staff veterinarian position at this hospital. Dr. Hennings then returned to Florida where she practiced small animal medicine and surgery for three years while her husband completed his veterinary degree in equine medicine. She enjoys internal medicine and critical care cases.

Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys cooking, hiking, biking, going to the beach, and cheering on the Nittany Lions and Florida Gators. She shares her home with her husband, sons, and a crew of crazy dogs.

Dr. Hennings has been at West Frederick Veterinary Hospital since 2009.
